Awkward. unreal. Thoughts & Expectations
I don’t know bout’ you, but I’m always coming up with shit on a whim, things I expect of myself and the people around me, and if it ain’t that then I'm having pretty wild thoughts. Quite often, I’m let down not because of failure but because I realize how selfish I become from time to time or self-consumed with the mind chatter. Self-realization is a mind F@$# and terribly frustrating, but on the other end of that spectrum knowing yourself is a blessing because it allows us to know when we mess up when we correct ourselves, or if we’re falling into habitual acts or situations amongst other things.
Expectations/our thoughts can be hella’ detrimental.
It’s difficult for us to understand that people have their own life, their own thoughts, their own insecurities, alongside everything that we deal with on a daily basis… Not meaning that it's on some depressive shit, but suggesting that we all go through the same phases in a nutshell. Happiness, Laziness, contentment, unhappiness, and a bit of self-depreciation. I won’t even get started elaborating on the subcategories like: resentment, desire, procrastination, ego etc.
How long these phases last is up to us. We actively choose in every moment of every day.
Do yourself a favor to learn from it, grow from it, move forward. This takes practice. Practice letting go of our habitual ways, harmful ways, ways that allow us to block how we really feel, who we really are, and the information we choose to retain, the thoughts we allow to repeat.
When it comes to your goals, your mind, your partner, friends, surroundings, whatever… release the mind chatter, release the expectations, release attachment, and practice non-judgment. This will allow for balance, for peace, which is realistic, which is attainable, with training and the ability to set all free.

Note to Self: Get ya shit together. Look in the mirror and tell yourself what you know. You can do anything, you’re not attached to the outcome, to failure. Failure is inevitable. But with this perception, you are unstoppable. No one has all the answers, no one is always in bliss. When you become attached to emotions or feelings, you become stagnated, resentful, and angry. Set that shit free, set yourself free.
